The Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County is a non-profit organization, No-Kill Animal Shelter with a 98% save rate in Charlotte County. We promise that any animal that enters our doors and can be made adoptable through veterinary care and/or training will have a roof over its head, food, enrichment, and the love of our staff and volunteers for as long as it takes for each and everyone to find their new home.

During this year’s Clear the Shelter Event*, we’re asking you to Open Your Heart to one of AWL’s pets in need by giving what you can.

The Animal Welfare League is asking that you give what you can to help support us as a whole, allowing us to continue our efforts to rescue and rehome pets in need. September 1-19, We’re letting you set the fee for our Large Breed Adult & Senior Dogs as well as our Adult and Senior Cats.

Our shelter depends on adoption fees to help cover the medical care of the animals while they wait for a new home, as well as food and housing costs. These fees also help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee.
